On today's battlefield, warfighters regularly encounter smoke, dust, sand, fog, and darkness. Engaging and defeating the enemy - and often sheer survival - requires a tool to overcome all of these obscurants and provide a tactical advantage by detecting and recognizing threats at a safe stand-off range across the battle space. The DRS Driver's Vision Enhancer (DVE) is the answer. A proven tool currently deployed on 40,000 vehicles- Abrams, Bradley, Stryker, MRAP, UAHMMWV and more.

DVE greatly improves the situational awareness of drivers and crews. Unlike night vision goggles, which amplify existing light and can be inoperable when there is too little light, or too much, DVE displays thermal contrast among objects and can deliver accurate, actionable images through dust, smoke, fog, or darkness. DVE-equipped troops can easily detect heat signatures of people, vehicles, road hazards and suspicious activity. And sophisticated image processing software provides a level of detail previously unattainable.

The result: enhanced range and effectiveness of surveillance and greatly improved safety for military personnel.

In three years, DRS Technologies has delivered over 40,000 DVE units. Not only do we design and manufacture the components, we also install and service them through our sizeable, field-deployed force of technicians.

During the recent Iraq surge operation, DRS broke our own production records and delivered DVE units an impressive 10 months ahead of schedule, and within 30 days of the initial request. And in September of 2007, the Army formerly recognized us for our efforts.

In the three years since DRS began producing DVE, we've developed and implemented improvements to the system via breakthroughs in optics, software and sensors. And we continue to innovate.
